How much can you make on UserCrowd? I’ve been on UserCrowd since November 2021, almost 5 years, and I’ve made $78.60 from 135 paid tests plus 17 screen-outs. UserCrowd doesn’t have a downloadable history like Prolific or Connect, so I went through my history page line by line and added up every test: what it paid, when I took it, and what it worked out to per hour and per month.
If you’re still deciding whether to join, start with my honest UserCrowd review. If you’re already on it and want more tests, read How to Get More Studies on UserCrowd. This post is just about the money.
Quick answer: I made $78.60 from about 6 hours of testing. My typical test paid $0.40 for 1 to 2 minutes, and every recent test email lists at least $12 an hour. My best month was $11.40. The real upside now is interviews, which pay $37.50 and up.

How I Added Up My Earnings
Prolific and CloudResearch Connect let you download a CSV of every study. UserCrowd doesn’t. Your history page only shows the date, “You participated in a test” and the amount. Mine is 7 pages long.
So I copied every line and added them up. The numbers match exactly: my 7 payouts ($74.60) plus my current $4 balance equal $78.60.
UserCrowd’s dashboard says “135 studies completed.” That count doesn’t include screen-outs, which is why my history has 152 lines.
My UserCrowd Earnings by Year

| Year | Tests | Screen-outs | Earned |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2021 | 7 | 0 | $5.00 |
| 2022 | 74 | 0 | $39.60 |
| 2023 | 42 | 0 | $23.40 |
| 2024 | 0 | 0 | $0 |
| 2025 | 4 | 4 | $3.40 |
| 2026 | 8 | 13 | $7.20 |
| Total | 135 | 17 | $78.60 |
2022 alone was half of everything I’ve made on UserCrowd. After 2023, I barely used it, because I was busy with college and then with Outlier AI, which paid much more per hour.
My UserCrowd Earnings by Month

This chart covers my most active stretch, November 2021 to September 2023. My best months were:
| Month | Earned | Tests |
|---|---|---|
| January 2022 | $11.40 | 19 |
| January 2023 | $8.60 | 13 |
| January 2026 | $6.40 | 7 tests + 13 screen-outs |
| October 2022 | $6.20 | 10 |
| August 2022 | $6.00 | 9 |
January 2022 was my best month because I was checking UserCrowd constantly. I needed extra money to start investing in VOO, and every few dollars helped me buy my first shares.
Even my best month was $11.40. UserCrowd is extra money, not a paycheck.
How Much UserCrowd Pays Per Test

Most of my tests were tiny:
- $0.20: 33 tests
- $0.40: 58 tests
- $0.60 to $1.00: 30 tests
- $1.01 to $2.00: 10 tests
- Over $2: 4 tests
91 of my 135 tests paid $0.40 or less. My median test paid $0.40 and my average was $0.56. A few bigger tests pull the average up.
The pay matches the time. A $0.20 or $0.40 test takes me 1 to 2 minutes.
How Much UserCrowd Pays Per Hour
UserCrowd pays based on how long a test should take. Every test email I got from September 23 to October 9, 2026 listed at least $12 an hour, which works out to about $0.20 per minute:
- $0.20 for 1 minute = $12 an hour
- $0.40 for 2 minutes = $12 an hour
- $4.20 for 15 minutes = $16.80 an hour

At that rate, my $75.60 from tests took about 6 hours of actual testing. Five years of UserCrowd, 6 hours of work.
In real life, I’d put it at $9+ an hour. The listed rate doesn’t count time spent checking for tests, or clicking a test that’s already full.
For comparison, I average about $13 an hour on Prolific and about $11 an hour on CloudResearch Connect.
Check how much I made on Crowdtap.
My Highest-Paying Tests on UserCrowd
My two best tests paid $2.80 each. The first was in August 2022:

And the second in April 2023:

My next best were $2.60 in January 2023 and $2.20 in January 2026. These bigger tests came from the profile sections I completed, which is why filling out every section matters.
Only 4 of my 135 tests paid more than $2. On UserCrowd, plain tests don’t get much bigger than that. The big money is in interviews.
What Happens When You Get Screened Out?
You still get paid. I’ve been screened out 17 times, and every one paid me:
- $0.20: 13 times
- $0.10: 4 times
That’s $3.00 total. 13 of my 17 screen-outs happened in January 2026 alone, so I’ve been getting screened out more lately.
How Often You Get Paid
You can’t cash out until you have $10, so how often you get paid depends on how active you are. I’ve cashed out 7 times:
| Payout requested | Amount |
|---|---|
| January 18, 2022 | $10.20 |
| July 1, 2022 | $11.00 |
| September 15, 2022 | $10.40 |
| December 1, 2022 | $10.00 |
| January 31, 2023 | $11.60 |
| May 3, 2023 | $11.40 |
| January 20, 2026 | $10.00 |
When I was active in 2022, I hit $10 about every 2 to 5 months. My first payout came less than 2 months after I joined.
Here’s my most recent test, from February 2026:

Since then, I’ve had $4 sitting in my balance, under the $10 minimum.
How Much You Could Make on UserCrowd Now
Here’s the surprising part. I haven’t done a test since February 2026, because I’ve been busy. But my inbox shows how much was available.
From September 23 to October 9, 2026, UserCrowd emailed me at least:
- 55 tests worth $88.80. That’s more than the $78.60 I’ve made in almost 5 years.
- $34.60 on October 8 alone, from 12 tests.
- 3 interview invites worth $135: two for $37.50 and one for $60.
Tests also pay more than they used to. My median test in my history paid $0.40. The median test in those recent emails paid $1.00, because more of them are longer, like $4.20 for 15 minutes. All 55 together added up to about 6 hours of work, or about $15 an hour.
I’m happy to see that. After almost 5 years on UserCrowd, there’s still real money to be made if you catch the tests.
What If You Do Interviews?
I’ve never done an interview, because they’re long. But here’s what they’d add:
| Interview length | Pay |
|---|---|
| 15 minutes | $30.00 |
| 30 minutes | $37.50 |
| 60 minutes | $52.50 |
| 90 minutes | $67.50 |
| 120 minutes | $82.50 |
Interview pay is from UserCrowd’s interview FAQ.
If you did just one $37.50 interview a week, that’s about $160 a month. That’s more than everything I’ve made on UserCrowd in almost 5 years, and four times my best year. One interview pays about as much as 94 of my typical $0.40 tests.
If you’re comfortable on camera, that’s how you make real money on UserCrowd.
My Verdict: How Much Can You Make on UserCrowd?
From my 135 tests, here’s what to expect:
- Per test: usually $0.20 to $0.40. My median was $0.40, and only 4 tests paid more than $2.
- Per hour: at least $12 listed, about $9+ in real life.
- Per month: $11.40 in my best month, doing short tests whenever I had free time.
- Total: $78.60 from about 6 hours of testing.
- The upside: recent emails offered $88.80 in 17 days, and interviews pay $37.50 and up.
UserCrowd pays in small amounts, but it adds up, and it’s paid me reliably since 2021. Plain tests are a nice extra. Interviews are where the real money is.
