How much can you make on CloudResearch Connect? I’ve made $177.12 from 214 approved studies since September 2025. In this post I break down every dollar: what each study paid, what I made per hour, my best and worst months, and the studies that paid the most.

Quick answer: I made $177.12 from 214 studies in about 16 hours of actual study time, which is about $11 an hour while working. Most studies paid under $1. In my active months I made $35 to $37 a month, and I wasn’t even trying hard.

My Total CloudResearch Connect Earnings
Here’s where my $177.12 came from:
| Type | Amount |
|---|---|
| Project payments | $172.46 |
| Bonus payments | $2.90 |
| Partial complete payments | $1.76 |
| Total | $177.12 |

Almost all of it came from regular study payments. Bonuses and partial completes are small extras. They’re nice when they happen, but don’t count on them.
By year, I made $104.25 in 2025 and $72.87 in 2026.

I only started in late September 2025, so most of that $104.25 came in about three months. 2026 is lower because I spent most of my time on Handshake AI at the start of the year. That paid a steady $17 an hour, so Connect became something I did only from time to time.
My Connect Earnings by Month
I downloaded my full study history from Connect (Project History → Download CSV) and added it up month by month. You can do the same with your own file using my CloudResearch Connect earnings calculator.

| Month | Studies | Earned | Time in studies | Per hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sep 2025 | 18 | $14.62 | 1h 47m | $8.19 |
| Oct 2025 | 49 | $35.54 | 2h 56m | $12.10 |
| Nov 2025 | 11 | $21.45 | 1h 38m | $13.19 |
| Dec 2025 | 46 | $37.39 | 3h 12m | $11.71 |
| Jan 2026 | 52 | $35.39 | 2h 58m | $11.90 |
| Feb 2026 | 20 | $12.33 | 1h 19m | $9.35 |
| Apr 2026 | 7 | $8.10 | 48m | $10.17 |
| Jul 2026 | 6 | $2.44 | 26m | $5.63 |
| Sep 2026 | 5 | $8.10 | 42m | $11.58 |
| Total | 214 | $175.36 | 15h 46m | $11.12 |
The table counts approved studies plus bonuses, by the month I started each study. It leaves out the $1.76 in partial completes, so the total is a little under my $177.12 lifetime earnings.
My best month was December 2025 at $37.39. October and January were close behind. In my first three months I made over $100, and I wasn’t doing it consistently. I just picked up studies here and there when I wanted extra money.
Look at the time column, though: my best month took about 3 hours of actual study time. That’s the most honest way to think about Connect. It isn’t a job. It’s a few extra dollars for a few spare minutes.
How Much Does Each Connect Study Pay?
Most of my studies were small. Here’s how all 214 broke down:

- $0.50 or less: 130 studies
- $0.51 to $1: 43 studies
- $1.01 to $2: 31 studies
- Over $2: 10 studies
Only 10 of my 214 studies paid more than $2. When I filter my history to studies paying $2 or less, 204 come up:

My median study paid $0.40 and my average was $0.81. The average is higher because a few big studies pull it up.
The studies were also short. My median study took about 3 minutes, and 162 of my 214 studies took 5 minutes or less. That’s the tradeoff: small pay, but quick studies you can do in a few spare minutes.
How Much Does Connect Pay Per Hour?
From my CSV, I spent 15 hours and 46 minutes inside studies and earned $175.36, which is $11.12 an hour.
That number is a little better than real life, though. Connect’s timer only counts the time you’re in a study. It doesn’t count time spent checking the dashboard, getting screened out or returning studies. Counting all of that, I’d say I average around $10 an hour, and often lower.
Every study shows its pay and hourly rate on the dashboard before you start:

On the same day I saw an 8-minute study paying $1.50 ($15.52/hr) and a 1-minute study paying $0.17 ($7.85/hr). Pay varies a lot from study to study, which is why I always check the hourly rate before I click.
Browser notifications show the pay range too:

My Highest-Paying Connect Studies
1. Forecasting study: $15.00
My best study on Connect paid $15. It taught the basics of forecasting, then had me make predictions on 15 real-world questions. It was all in one part.

Connect listed it at 110 minutes and $9.03 an hour:

I actually finished in about 62 minutes, so it paid closer to $14.50 an hour. That one study is about 8% of everything I’ve made on Connect.
2. Remembering Faces: $6.00
This was a face memory study in four parts:
- View pictures of faces and try to remember them.
- Do anagrams for five minutes.
- Test your memory of the faces from part 1.
- Answer some demographic questions.

It was listed at 30 minutes and $12.96 an hour:

I finished in about 24 minutes, so it came out to almost $15 an hour.
Best hourly rate: $5 in 4 minutes
My best study by hourly rate wasn’t a long one. A “perform tasks and give your feedback” study paid $5 for about 4 minutes of work. That’s the kind of study you only catch if you’re there when it posts.
Location-based studies
Some studies are only open to certain states. I live in California, and sometimes I get California-only studies like this one: $4 for 15 minutes, or $16 an hour.

They don’t come every day, but they usually pay well because fewer people qualify.
My Lowest-Paying Studies (and What I Skip Now)
Not every study is worth it. My worst ones by hourly rate:
- A rating study paid $2 for 28 minutes, about $4.26 an hour.
- A consumer study paid $1.20 for 17 minutes, about $4.18 an hour.
- An experience survey paid $0.25 for 6.5 minutes, about $2.31 an hour.
Connect also asked in my About You profile whether I’d want 8-minute surveys for $0.25 each, which they said would always be available. That’s only about $1.88 an hour, so I said no.

I’d rather wait for real studies that pay $10 to $15 an hour.
Bonuses and Partial Completes
Bonuses: I’ve had 4 bonuses for $2.90 total. The biggest was a decision-making study that paid $0.80 up front plus a $2.30 bonus. Without the bonus it was a bad deal at under $4 an hour. With it, the study paid about $14 an hour. Bonuses are usually for performance or for completing an extra task, so you can’t plan around them.
Partial completes: When you get screened out partway through a study, Connect pays you a small amount for your time. Every time this has happened to me, I’ve been paid. I’ve had 8 partial completes, each paying between $0.13 and $0.35, for $1.76 total.

It’s not much, but it’s better than getting nothing when you get screened out.
Pending: Studies need researcher approval before you’re paid. Right now I have 2 pending studies worth $5.34.

Pending money doesn’t show up in your balance until it’s approved.
How Much Can You Realistically Make on Connect?
Based on my numbers:
- Casual (a few studies a week): about $5 to $15 a month
- Active (checking most days): about $30 to $40 a month
- Per study: about $0.40 typical, $0.81 average
- Per hour: about $10, sometimes up to $15 on good studies
I did all of my studies on my laptop. Many studies are desktop-only, so you’ll get more studies on a computer than on your phone.
Connect won’t replace a job. What it’s good for is turning spare minutes into extra money. That’s how I use it, and it added up to $177 without much effort. If you want more from paid studies, use Connect alongside Prolific, Crowdtap, Qmee and Usercrowd.
Verdict: How much can you make on CloudResearch Connect
From my 214 studies, here’s what to expect:
- Per study: usually under $1. My median was $0.40, and only 10 studies paid more than $2.
- Per hour: about $10 to $11 while working, and up to $15 on the better studies.
- Per month: $35 to $37 in my active months, using only about 3 hours of study time.
- Bigger studies: rare, but they add up. My $15 and $6 studies alone made up about 12% of my total.
Connect pays in small amounts, but they add up. I got to $177.12 by doing studies here and there, and over $100 of that came in my first three months.
