Is Amazon Shopper Panel worth it? I’ve used it since December 2021 and earned $188.70, paid to my Amazon balance. For the first year and a half, it was one of the easiest $10 a month I’ve ever made. Today, most of my receipts pay just 10 cents.
Here’s how Amazon Shopper Panel works, what I earned, what changed, and who it’s still worth it for.

What Is Amazon Shopper Panel?
Amazon Shopper Panel is an Amazon app that pays you for sharing your receipts from stores outside Amazon. You take a picture of a paper receipt in the app, Amazon reviews it, and you earn a reward. There are also occasional short surveys.
I found it on the r/beermoney subreddit in 2021, when anyone could join. It’s now invite-only, with a waitlist.
How Amazon Shopper Panel Works

- Upload receipts: Take a picture of your receipt in the app. It takes less than 30 seconds. Some of my receipts were approved instantly, others took 10 minutes or more.
- Forward email receipts: You can also forward online receipts by email.
- Answer surveys: Short 1–2 minute surveys show up now and then.
- Monthly cap: Receipt rewards are capped at $10 a month.
Your rewards go to your Amazon balance each month, and you can spend that on anything on Amazon. You can also donate your rewards to a charity, such as the American Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders.

How Much I’ve Made on Amazon Shopper Panel

I’ve earned $188.70 in total, but nearly all of it came in the first year and a half:
- 2022 to mid-2023: about $10–13 a month. Every receipt paid $1, so 10 receipts reached the $10 cap.
- Late 2023 to early 2024: $2 a month, just from keeping ad verification on.
- 2025: cents. My best month was $2.05.

Here’s the change side by side. In June 2023, 10 receipts earned me $10. In November 2025, 7 receipts earned me 70 cents.

What Changed: Receipts Now Pay by Store Type
The old system was great. Any receipt from any store, whether grocery, electronics or anything else, paid the full $1, so hitting the $10 cap was easy.
I found out about the change the hard way. I uploaded a grocery receipt and got $0.10 instead of $1. I looked it up online and confirmed that Amazon had switched to paying by store type:
- $0.70: electronics, home improvement and decor, clothing and shoes, sports and outdoors, and department stores
- $0.10: grocery, big box, dollar, convenience, drug, beauty and health, pet supply, and specialty stores
- $0: service businesses, including restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations and rideshares

Most of my in-store shopping is groceries, so most of my receipts now pay a dime.

At $0.10 a receipt, 10 grocery receipts earn you $1 a month, compared with $10 before.

Ad Verification Used to Pay $2 a Month
Ad verification lets Amazon see which Amazon ads you view on your phone. From late 2023 to early 2024, Amazon paid $2 a month just for keeping it on.

That $2 a month is gone. Now Amazon only says that turning ad verification on can get you more surveys. Setting it up is also a hassle, because it needs an always-on VPN on your phone. I didn’t mind when it paid $2 a month, but it isn’t worth it now.

Surveys Are Rare
Even under the old system, I only got 1 or 2 surveys a month, usually about 4 quick questions for $0.25. Now they’re even rarer, especially with ad verification turned off.

Is My Data Safe?
Sharing my receipts with Amazon doesn’t bother me. Ad verification bothered me a little, not for privacy reasons, but because of the always-on VPN it needs. If sharing your shopping data with Amazon makes you uncomfortable, this app isn’t for you.
Stacking Amazon Shopper Panel With Upside
You can use both on the same shopping trip. Upside pays you cash back for buying, and Shopper Panel pays you for the receipt, so one purchase can earn twice.
How to stack them:
- Claim an Upside offer before you shop.
- Pay with the card you linked to Upside, or keep the receipt if Upside asks you to upload it.
- Upload the same receipt to Shopper Panel.
Where stacking pays:
- Grocery stores: Upside cash back plus $0.10 from Shopper Panel.
- Convenience stores: Upside cash back plus $0.10 from Shopper Panel.
- Gas stations and restaurants: only Upside pays. Shopper Panel pays $0 for these receipts.
In 2025, I bought groceries with an Upside offer and uploaded the same receipt to Shopper Panel, so I got paid twice for one trip.
Don’t expect much from Shopper Panel’s side, though. It only adds 10 cents per grocery receipt now. Most of your savings will come from Upside. See how much with my gas cash back calculator.
My Verdict: Is Amazon Shopper Panel Worth It?
It used to be. When every receipt paid $1, it was an easy $10 a month. I stopped using it, because almost all my in-store shopping is groceries, and those receipts pay 10 cents now.
It’s still worth it if you shop in stores a lot at clothing, home improvement, sporting goods or department stores. Those receipts still pay $0.70, close to the old $1. If that sounds like you, join Amazon Shopper Panel and get on the waitlist. It’s invite-only, so the sooner you sign up, the better.
Skip it if most of your in-store shopping is groceries, gas or eating out. Ten grocery receipts will only get you $1 a month.

FAQ
Is Amazon Shopper Panel legit?
Yes. I’ve been paid $188.70 since December 2021.
How much does Amazon Shopper Panel pay per receipt?
It depends on the store: $0.70 for electronics, clothing, home and department stores, $0.10 for grocery and most other stores, and $0 for gas stations and restaurants.
How much can you make on Amazon Shopper Panel?
Receipt rewards are capped at $10 a month, but grocery receipts make that cap almost impossible to reach. At $0.10 each, you’d need 100 grocery receipts to hit $10. If you shop for groceries a couple of times a week, that’s 8 to 10 receipts, or about $1 a month.
Can anyone join Amazon Shopper Panel?
No. It’s invite-only now, with a waitlist.
How do you get paid?
Rewards are added to your Amazon balance each month. You can also donate them to a charity.
